In some ways I asked for you
See I was tired
Of trying so hard to be happy in every aspect
I wanted smiles to be effortless
Our wins to be joined together
Goals aligned and intertwined
I wanted high clouds to be floor to high hopes
The moon to be backdrops to our highs
See I asked for patience, kindness, belief
Understanding, wisdom, intensity, and honesty.
It was delivered amazingly wonderful
These adjectives still aren’t enough.
The previews of what’s on the list
Came in beautifully
In earth shattering goodness
Taking me to so many levels
Amazing highs, different lows
Evenness, steadiness, that wasn’t there before
Spirits spoke to me
Energy soaked in after spilling over me
Baptizing me
With delicate drops of love
Wild it has been
Given to those undeserving
Beating mightily
Heart
Heart oh heart of ours
Can you still beat with the strength
That’s required to maximize
This level of greatness
That’s out there waiting
In the wings of nothingness
Waiting to be adjusted
Mastered and re imagined
By those who find themselves
Lost in the possible ending
The beginning marred in chaos
That wasn’t asked for
This story played out
On many different
Scenarios in my head
The chances taken
To reach a level unknown to others
The depths unrealized.
